How long does it take to get an implant?

For most patients, the placement of dental implants involves two surgical procedures. First, the implants are placed within your jawbone and for first three to six months following surgery, the implants are beneath the surface of the gums, gradually bonding with the jawbone; this is called integration. While the implants are under the gums, temporary bridges or dentures are sometimes worn. On average, following 3 months of wait, the implants are uncovered by the oral surgeon and a healing cap is placed over the implant. Dr. Farbod would then begin the process to design the teeth - crowns or dentures to be fitted to the implants with posts or attachments.  Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life!

is this procedure painful?

A qualified, highly-skilled oral maxilla-facial surgeon will place the implant and most patients experience minimal disruption in their daily life.  Dr. Melissa Farbod will restore your implant with a crown either immediately once the implant is placed or when the implant is ready to be restored. Contact us today to discuss tooth replacement with implants.

Dental implants closely replicate the natural tooth and are permanently implanted into your jawbone.  Dental implants look, feel and function like natural teeth and can be cleaned just like natural teeth.  When dental implants are placed to secure dentures, they give patients the confidence with speaking and eating because they eliminate the worry of the dentures falling out or needing to be secured with denture adhesives. Dental implants are a durable alternative to tooth replacement and have been shown to last a lifetime with the proper care!

what are the benefits of  dental implants?

what is a dental implant?

A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically placed by an oral surgeon into the jaw bone to replicate the natural tooth root.  An artificial tooth or crown is then attached to the dental implant with a connecting screw (abutment) by a dentist at Breeze Dental.  The dental implant then enables normal function and natural tooth appearance in the area that was once missing a tooth.  Dental implants can replace one or more teeth and can even be placed to secure and anchor dentures. Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place. Dental implants provide patients with a permanent solution to missing teeth that enable them to smile, talk and chew with peace of mind.  The dentists at Breeze Dental, P.C. are confident that dental implants can help you achieve the  smile you've longed for with dental implants.
